There exists a passion at Diemersfontein Wine & Country Estate that is hard to miss. Home to Diemersfontein Wines, the estate is located at the foot of the majestic Hawequa Mountains in Wellington. 

It’s rich history spans three generations of the Sonnenberg family, with the first vines being planted in the 1970s. 

Over the decades, this beautiful estate has become a precious jewel in the crown of the South African wine industry, with the introduction of the first chocolate-coffee-style Pinotage, which has become a well-known international favourite, as well as the production of numerous award-winning wines of various varietals. 

Diemersfontein boasts a country-style guest house, conference and wedding facilities, a winelands restaurant called Hope, and Thokozani, a pioneering black empowerment initiative. Almost 200 resident families call this peace of heaven their home, whilst the property also houses a reputable little private school called Wellington Preparatory School and College.
